Yes, Yes. I know. You thought i died. But i didn’t. I haven’t had Internet access at this new house (and still dont. I’m doing this via a EvDo Data card) but i will be back soon. Some cool things will be happening here behind the scenes so please do stay tuned. But in the meantime cricket’s been busy while i’ve been away! Introducing not one but FIVE new handsets. Including the Fire KRZR K1m, The UTStarcomm “Mini”, The Kyocera Lingo with a Full QWERTY Keyboard, The Samsung U340, The UTStarcomm 8615 and last but certantly not least the UTStarcomm CDM7026 the prices on these range from 49.99 for the 8516 to 329.99 for the Fire K1m. All handsets are available in Cricket Retail / Cricket Authorized Reseller stores as of today. I will return with more content in a few weeks. (Happy Holidays on the side.)

-EvDo- Arizona users get EvDo

If your in the Phoenix, Scottsdale or surrounding area’s you might be in luck. Customers in those locations are able to send/receive data and other web content using Cricket’s EvDo Network. The PRL you will need is 1025 or 1125 for Arizona Market’s. Avrage speed was found to be 760.00 KBPS Ballpark. Which in tests was fast enough to download video’s on Windows Mobile based Cricket phones from YouTube (With In-Sync Audio)

Some customers are experiencing a problem where there handsets *see* the EvDo Network but once the handset attempts to start a transfer is sent back down to the slower, 1xRTT Network. No solution has been found at the time of writing. EvDo Datacards are also being tested in Nashville. It has been confirmed that the price of a Cricket “Wireless Broadband” data card will be set at 179.00 with the price of service being 35.00 per month for up to 10GB of Transfer per month.

-BREAKING: Portland customers get EvDO-

Cricket customers in select Portland area’s are getting EvDO after *228ing there handsets. Some are having problem’s with WAP slowing down to 1x RTT speed’s but MMS is working and is very fast from those who have EvDo. More as it comes.

Its only 1xRTT compatible.-Its very much like the W370 that Tracfone has (370 is GSM) Main differences are the inclusion of Bluetooth, Camera, Exterior Mono Display and higher resolution interior with a larger memory along with Un-Confirmed expandable memory-Includes C2 Bluetooth-Voice dialing is included-Camera is VGA (640×480 Res.)-Phone price is estimated at under 150.00 which could make it a smash hit in the mid-range phone area.
