Thought this was pretty nice of Cricket. They decided to help those in need. And make a great image of them self moving into Rochester. Good move Cricket! 🙂
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – June 13, 2007 – Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, brought Dinosaur Bar-B-Que’s famous pulled pork sandwiches to the Open Door Mission on Friday, June 8, feeding more than 200 people in need. The lunch, which was open to all, is just one of the many ways Cricket is providing support as it enters the Rochester community.
Cricket’s leadership team was on hand serving pulled pork sandwiches, soda, salads and chips during what they acknowledge as one of the most important events Cricket has been involved with thus far. “We’re not just here to do business in Rochester – we’re here to support the entire community,” said Ed Kosmoski, district director for Cricket in Rochester. “No one should go hungry, and this lunch is one way for Cricket to say ‘welcome’ to everyone. We’ll be back again and again to support the Open Door Mission, and will continue to help address issues of poverty and homelessness in Rochester.”
Cricket’s debut in Rochester includes a variety of community programs and initiatives, including a donation of $12,500 to extend the Mayor’s Clean Sweep Program and sponsorship of the Main Game event and River of Light Laser Shows; sponsorship support for the Rochester Step-Off Competition, Harbor Fest, Puerto Rican Festival, and Rochester area little league teams; and Cricket Day at Seneca Park Zoo and Cricket Night at Frontier Field.
